Kjære, fine Trond! Det var ikke det her blogginnlegget jeg skulle skrive idag…
Fly Fritt min venn.
English version: Dearest Trond!
This was not the blogpost I was going to write today …
It was going to be about you, but it was supposed to be about you alive!
About funny stunts and sneak around-jumping.
About to have fun in life and enjoy it with the biggest smile I know of.
About the base jumping from objects, not only from high mountains in large wingsuits. Because you were so good at enjoying all aspects of the sport.
Also the madness …
But after Dans accident two weeks ago you talked so much about taking a step back. Calm down.
Because you valued your family so much.
It was who you were.
Playful and a bit crazy, so spirited and adventurous, caring, kind and incredibly nice.
You had so much to give, and you shared your good hugs and big smiles with all your friends.
I feel so lucky to have shared so many nice moments with you this summer; Laughing and having fun, hours of good chats about life, and gotten to know you. I have been allowed to benefit from your care and consideration, and have become fond of you.
And I was really looking forward to getting to know you better, and it’s so incredibly sad that I did not get the opportunity to do so.
At the same time my thoughts goes to those you loved the most; who will miss a loving spouse, father, son and brother.
And to all your friends who will miss their Smiley-they are many!
You had a knack for making friends everywhere, no one could resist your infectious mood.
The last thing you said to me was, “I’m cheering for you, Frøydis, – always.”
I’ll remember that, Trond, every time I need a pat on my shoulder.
And I’ll take care of all the good memories – forever.
Fly free my friend.
